What Deja New is

Deja New is a personal knowledge tool for capturing, organising and retrieving your own notes through conversation. It is not a professional, legal, medical or financial advice service, and it is not intended as a system of record for anything you cannot afford to lose. Please keep your own backups of anything critical.

Acceptable use

• Use the service lawfully and only for your own personal knowledge work.
• Do not store unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights, in your notes.
• Do not attempt to access other people's accounts or data, disrupt the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission.
• Do not use automated means to overload the service or resell access to it without written agreement.
• Please avoid storing other people's sensitive personal data in your notes; you are responsible for anything you choose to save.

You own your content

You keep all rights to the notes and material you create in Deja New. You grant only the limited permission needed to store, process and display that content back to you, which includes sending your chat messages to the AI provider so responses can be generated. Your content is not used to train models and is not shared with other users.

Account termination

• You can close your account at any time; your notes are deleted along with it.
• An account may be suspended or closed if these terms are broken, if the service is used unlawfully, or if it puts the service or other users at risk.
• Where it is reasonable to do so, notice will be given first and an opportunity offered to export your notes.
• The service itself may be discontinued with reasonable advance notice.

Liability disclaimer

Deja New is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. AI- generated responses can be inaccurate or incomplete, so please verify anything important. To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted data arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
